“This historic property is a great place to share time with family and friends before Amtrak trip the next morning . Convenient to Old Town restaurants. We were welcomed and truly enjoyed the individual attention. The whole experience was perfect.”

“Met at the door by Claudia who is amazing, attentive and helpful. We were taken to our room we requested and everything was perfect. Claudia carried our bags, pointed us in the direction for a great dinner (Brickhouse Run) and then met at the door again upon our return. She also gave us a tour of the mansion. Next morning we were greeted , again by Claudia with a delicious breakfast! Wonderful all the way around❣️ ”

“House was very clean and beautifully decorated, neighborhood was also quiet. Everything that we needed was in the home and convenient area with food and grocery store close by. Will definitely reserve home again.”

“It was horrible, the worst accommodation ever! Don't stop here... Every person who checked in before and after me had something to arguing with the hotel stuff. Door broken, old bathroom, dirty room, no fridge, no towels for 4, only for one and dirty! It was too late to leave and find something else. Wi-fi didn't work! A horrible night! It seems the hotel never had a refreshing in 50 years and more! Avoid it!”

“The property was clean and comfortably spacious. Plenty of seating for family game night and meals. We were pleased to find a number of lovely local restaurants, and everything we wanted to do was within a 35 min drive. Perfect for a short family trip.Light sleepers might have trouble with the sound of trains, and the beds were a touch on the firm side for my back, but entirely within standard variation. The neighborhood was quiet and comfortable.Only tough thing was that the lawn crew showed up...

“Our family had all gathered in Petersburg to lay one of our family members to rest in the community they grew up in. None of us lived in Petersburg so we opted to find a place large enough to hold our entire family. The place is most suitable for adults and there are stairs to get to any of the bedrooms or bathrooms so be sure you can walk up and down stairs. ”

“I have no complaints regarding the booking process, communication, check-in, and cleanliness of the home. My family was very satisfied with our stay, and ensuring their comfort is my top priority. While the stairs provided a bit of a workout, I suppose a little exercise is beneficial, even on vacation! ”

“Not only is the home as described, the host was very accommodating as we needed an extra day when we encountered car issues and had to wait for our vehicle to be repaired. In all of our years of traveling this is a first time that we have had a host stock the refrigerator and pantry as she knew we would be arriving late. Would definitely recommend this home to others. “This place was charming! A great example of adaptive reuse architecture, this old store in historic Petersburg has been turned into living quarters that are modern and comfortable while retaining the character of the past. So cozy (yet spacious for a couple) and convenient to downtown. The owners make you feel like they are your best friends who strive to provide everything you need for your stay. We stayed here for a week of sightseeing and loved coming "home" every night to what we referred to...

“An absolutely beautiful place in a central location. We loved being downtown & just walking out the front door to reach pubs & sushi, with coffee shops & a dinners not far away. We're heavy sleepers so the night festivities didn't bother us one bit & earplugs are provided! But if one is a documented poor sleeper, or if one isn't able to climb stairs, those are the only reasons to not book this luxe spread. ”

“The room I was provided looked nothing like the one in the photo. The carpet was dirty, there were roaches present, the room did not have a table similar to the one in the photo, the bathroom did not even have a roll of toilet paper. When I asked for extra towels, we were told none were available. Like the old saying goes, 'you get what you pay for'.”
